Delete your Wufy account

You can permanently delete your Wufy account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page describes both ways to do it and explains exactly what happens to your data.

1. Delete from the app (recommended)

If you still have Wufy installed, this is the fastest way:

1. Open the Wufy app.

2. Go to Profile → Settings.

3. Scroll to the Account section at the bottom.

4. Tap Delete account and confirm twice.

The deletion runs immediately and signs you out of all devices.

2. Delete by email (if you no longer have the app)

If you have already uninstalled the app, send an email from the address linked to your account to:

wufydog@gmail.com

Use the subject line: Delete my Wufy account.

In the email, please tell us which sign-in method you used (Apple, Google or Telegram) and, if possible, the approximate Telegram username or phone number you registered with. We will confirm the deletion by reply within 30 days.

3. What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

  • Your profile (name, photo, username, preferences, location).
  • Your dogs, including their photos and subscriptions.
  • Walks, events and lost-dog reports you created.
  • Your participation in other users' walks and events.
  • All refresh and push-notification tokens so active sessions drop immediately.
  • Apple / Google / Telegram sign-in links so you cannot sign back in with the same identity.

4. What is kept and why

To avoid breaking shared conversation history for other participants, messages you have sent in group chats (walk chats, neighborhood chats, events) are kept but shown as sent by "Deleted User", with no profile, photo or link to you. These messages contain only the text you wrote and no other personal data.

Anonymous counters such as total app users and country-level statistics may retain aggregated information that cannot identify you.

5. Retention and backups

Personal data is removed from the live database immediately on deletion. Encrypted database backups may contain the data for up to 30 days before they roll off; we do not restore deleted accounts from those backups.
